Born in 1951, I studied Fine Art at the N.E. London Polytechnic, at Walthamstow, where my tutors included the Academicians, Fred Cuming, Olwyn Bowey, John Maine and Bill Bowyer. My specialist subjects included printmaking and oil painting. I later obtained an Honours degree in Art History and Philosophy with the Open University. Whilst continuing to paint ever since leaving Art College [I still work consistently in oil paint] I have done a number of other things all within the sphere of art and art history including academic and art provenance research in America, teaching and lecturing in Adult Education and on a number of Cruise Ships [Silverseas and Cunard] and have made a number of television series' on art and the history of art for Sky and 'History Channel' television. It was with the foundation of my print studio in 2000, however, that I returned to producing my own work on a full-time and permanent basis.

My work has been exhibited at the Royal Academy, the Royal Scottish Academy, the National Museum of Wales, and also in private galleries in London [Bond Street], and also in provincial galleries in Ripon and York. I exhibit regularly with the Lake Artists Society, Grasmere and have also exhibited at Upfront Gallery, Penrith. One of my works is in the permanent collection in the City of Walsall Art gallery, and my work has been shown also in Europe and the United States. I have had a one-man exhibition at Rosehill theatre, Cumbria. My work is supported by the North-West Arts Board.
